BDA Social

All work and no play has never been a feature of the drilling industry. Members like the opportunity to socialise, let their hair down on occasions and relax. The BDA holds two principal social events each year and they’ve become well recognised for their success.

BDA Annual Dinner Dance

Regularly attracting in excess of 300 attendees, this is the opportunity for members and their partners to wine, dine and dance the night away. Held in the autumn, it’s always at a city centre hotel venue which varies from year to year. In the past the event has visited Glasgow, Manchester, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Newcastle, Cardiff, Leeds, Southampton and Birmingham. One feature is that we always hold a charity raffle and tombola for local children’s hospices and to date we’ve raised over £50,000 for charity.

Our 2011 Dinner Dance was held on Saturday 12 November at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead hotel in the North East which raised a further £2,790 for children's hospice charities.

Details of our 2012 Dinner Dance will be announced in the Spring.

BDA Annual Golf Day

An extremely popular event, it attracts members & guests to a full day’s golf and evening dinner at our regular venue of Woodsome Hall Golf Club near Huddersfield. It’s usually held on the first Friday in September. All who attend comment that there are plenty of golf days and then there’s the BDA Golf Day!!

Our 2011 Golf Day was held on Friday 2 September at Woodsome Hall GC.

Our 2012 Golf Day will be held on Friday 7 September at Woodsome Hall GC. Details and a booking form will appear here shortly.
