Primary Interests:
Promoting and improving standards of efficiency, health & safety  and training and education in the drilling industry.
Main Activities:
Subcommittees include training and education, safety/standards/technical, driller accreditation, marketing, finance, ground investigation and geotechnical processes.
Current Initiatives
and Activities:

Introduction of National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) for drilling field crews and aligning these with Accreditation; producing rotary drill guidance notes on guarding; introducing a health & safety manual; and devising new NVQ training under its Driller Skills for life programme.

The BDA remains concerned about the adherence to, and policing of, existing standards and the need to raise them, thereby ensuring that only those that comply are entitled to win work.
