The BDA Technical & Standards Sub-Committee met on 18th March 2025 to discuss meeting key technical updates, audit discussions, and initiatives to engage with the wider geotechnical industry.
Key Highlights:

- BSI Standards Update – The release of the draft for BS EN ISO 22477-6 was confirmed, relating to geotechnical testing of soil nails and rock bolts, which is open for comment.
- AGS, FPS & Ground Forum Updates – Ground Forum efforts focused on attracting newcomers to the industry through grants and signposting students to opportunities.
- Any Other Business – Upcoming changes to LOLER were flagged, which the committee will review in due course. Potential student placement links via Glasgow University will be explored.
