BDA Establishes Sustainability Sub-Committee and Invites Member Involvement

April 22, 2026

The British Drilling Association (BDA) is pleased to announce that its Sustainability Working Group has now formally transitioned into the Sustainability Sub-Committee.

Agreed by the BDA Management Committee, this important step reflects both the progress already made by the Sustainability Working Group and the Association’s commitment to placing sustainability at the forefront of its activity.

The formation of a formal Sustainability Sub-Committee will help provide greater structure, visibility and support for this area of work, ensuring that the BDA can continue to play an active role in helping the drilling industry respond to sustainability challenges and opportunities in a practical and meaningful way.

The BDA Management Committee would like to thank all those who have contributed to the Sustainability Working Group to date. Their efforts have helped build strong foundations and demonstrated the value of a dedicated focus on sustainability across the sector.

As this work moves into its next phase, the BDA is also inviting volunteers from across the membership to get involved in the new Sustainability Sub-Committee.

This is an opportunity for BDA members with an interest in sustainability, environmental performance, innovation, good practice and the future direction of the industry to help shape the BDA’s work in this important area.

Members who would like to express an interest in joining the Sustainability Sub-Committee are encouraged to contact: Sustainability@britishdrillingassociation.co.uk or: Joel@britishdrillingassociation.co.uk.
