BDA Appoints Membership Officer

October 14, 2020

The British Drilling Association (BDA) is pleased to confirm the appointment of Carl Gawtry as its first Membership Officer.

With COVID-19 preventing direct contact with members through the many seminars, conferences, trade shows and social functions, it was considered an appropriate time for the Association to reach out to all its members via phone, video chat and email.

Carl joins the BDA on 19 October 2020, and will be tasked with making contact with all Registered members, and sponsored members: the purpose will be to have a two way conversation about the BDA’s mission, members’ opinions of the BDA, what members would like to see more or less of from their Association, the health of members’ businesses, the sector and the primary difficulties it faces.

Carl will also gather information about your sponsored members, to ensure that the association has accurate records for the Management Committee elections. In the strictest confidence, he will also gather and collate your accident statistics which will of course be anonymised.

With more than 40 years in the drilling industry, Carl has previously worked for British Drilling & Freezing, WJ Groundwater, Project Dewatering, Skelair and Drilcorp, so I really can say that he’s seen it all!

Look out for an introductory email from Carl and please try to find time to share your views with him over a virtual cup of tea!
