FREE training is available to British Drilling Association (BDA) members ahead of a planned requirement for Lead Drillers operating machinery with hydraulic systems.
Training in hydraulic hose inspection is set to become a prerequisite for the BDA audit, with the requirement planned to take effect from the start of April 2027.
It will apply to all Lead Drillers operating machinery with hydraulic systems, including rotary, sonic and dynamic sampling drilling machinery, and potentially some cable percussion machines.
Members can prepare now by completing the Hydraulic Hose Inspection course through the BDA Training Portal. The course is free to members using their member discount code, providing an opportunity to undertake the training ahead of the planned introduction.
Hydraulic hose inspection is an important part of maintaining safe drilling operations. The forthcoming audit requirement will place greater emphasis on ensuring that Lead Drillers working with hydraulic machinery have undertaken training in this area.
Member companies are encouraged to identify the Lead Drillers affected and build the training into their development plans over the coming months.
Visit the BDA Training Portal to access the Hydraulic Hose Inspection course and use your member discount code to enrol FREE of charge – https://bda.learnworlds.com/
