New Gloucester Dates Announced for BDA Manual Handling Training

July 21, 2026

The British Drilling Association (BDA) has announced two new manual handling training dates for Gloucester this October, continuing its programme of practical training designed to help improve safety, competence and working practices across the drilling industry.

The new dates are:

  • Monday 12 October 2026 – Manual Handling Training
  • Tuesday 13 October 2026 – Passing on the Principles (POPS) Training

Manual handling has been identified as the single largest cause of reported injuries within the BDA’s accident statistics. The training programme forms part of the Association’s wider strategy to reduce the risk of injury, strengthen workplace competence and encourage safer manual handling behaviours throughout the sector.

The Passing on the Principles, or POPS, course is intended to help attendees develop the knowledge and skills needed to pass effective manual handling principles on to colleagues within their own organisations.

Both Gloucester courses are free to BDA members. The cost for non-members is £120 plus VAT per person, per course.

Places are limited and early booking is recommended.
