News from the BDA AGM – April 2022

May 4, 2022

A number of changes were announced regarding those sitting on the various British Drilling Association (BDA) committees, at the recent BDA AGM held 27 April 2022.

Although already announced, Paul McMann was formally appointed Chair of the BDA.

On the Main management committee, those stepping down are Natalie Bews, Jon Christie, Andrew Stevenson, and John Grainger, to be replaced by Tom Walton (Soil Engineering), David Bradley (BAM Ritchies), and Neil Breach (Fugro).

The BDA would also like to welcome Mark Toye, who having already been active on the management committee, will take up the position as new Vice Chair.

On the BDA’s sub-committees, Neil Breach takes over from Jon Christie on the Health & Safety sub-committee, outgoing BDA Chair Richard Fielden takes over the helm of the Marketing sub-committee, whilst there are no changes to the Training & Education and Technical & Standards sub-committees, with Paul McMann (also BDA Chair and Mark Toye (new Vice Chair), continuing their sub-committee positions, respectively.

The BDA would like to thank all those stepping down from their current BDA positions for their support, efforts, and hard work over the past years. The work undertaken by these people is voluntary, and the time freely given by them and where relevant, their respective employers, is greatly appreciated.
