The BDA is proud to be supporting International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) 2021

The British Drilling Association (BDA) is proud to be supporting International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) 2021, which will be held 23rd June 2021.

INWED 2021 is an international awareness campaign established to raise the profile of women in engineering and focus attention on the amazing career opportunities available to women in this exciting industry. It celebrates the outstanding achievements of women engineers throughout the world.

The initiative was launched for the first time in the UK in 2014, by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES), to celebrate its 95th anniversary. Since that launch in 2014 the day has grown enormously over the subsequent years, to the point where it received UNESCO patronage in 2016. In 201 it became international for the first time due to the interest and enthusiasm developed by the international audience and participants in the previous years and INWED was born to allow the celebration of women in engineering to become global.

The BDA is encouraging groups (Governmental, educational, corporate, Professional Engineering Institutions, individuals, and other organisations) to organise their own events in support of the day.

Keep an eye on the website http://www.inwed.org.uk/, for more information and resources as they become available.
